Zach started coding when he was very young, roughly 7 years old, attending coding camps and taking online courses. At the age of 12, Zach released his first app, Speed Soccer. Although it was not successful, it taught him valuable skills for the future.
Just two years later, Zach created the Roslyn High School favorite, Totally Science, an innovative video game aggregator. “During COVID, I saw that schools were giving out Chromebooks,” Yadegari says. “People would play games instead of paying attention in class. However, these games were fragmented across different gaming websites, so I saw an opportunity to build a hub website that combined all of these games under one link.”
Zach worked on this website for two years. He marketed it on TikTok, and it grew to five million users. In the end, Zach sold it for six figures.
“I realized, I don’t want to go down the path where I don’t go to college and I’m this one hit wonder,” Yadegari says. “I make one platform and I don’t go anywhere with my life.”
Zach got in touch with Blake Anderson, a man he met on Twitter, who had created successful AI apps. With the help of Mr. Anderson and his partner Henry, Zach would go on to create CalAI.
This is the story of how they did it.
